5 Reasons To Try Virgin Malaysian Hair

IVirgin Malaysian Hairt’s that time again. Time for a change….decisions, decisions, decisions….Whether you are new to world of virgin hair or just at the point where you’re ready to try something new;

Here are 5 reasons why you might want to consider picking up a few bundles of virgin Malaysian hair this time around:

5

It’s Extremely Durable

black-hairHair durability can be affected by many factors including climate of the original source, diet of the donor, and the donors genetic makeup.  Although virgin Malaysian hair can be cut, curled,  flat-ironed and dyed, it is still guaranteed to be one of the most durable virgin hair extensions in the world. The people of Malaysia often maintain a healthy diet that is rich in herbs and essential nutrients for stimulating healthy hair growth. The durability of virgin Malaysian hair is one of its most important features and this hair has been known to last over a year if properly cared for. Its ability to withstand cold and dry temperatures alike, while maintaining its strength with minimal breakage, makes this hair a must try.

It Holds Moisture Well

Virgin Malaysian HairIf you don’t know by now, let me make it clear..Dryness will kill your hair. Luckily virgin Malaysian hair holds moisture extremely well by nature but due to its fullness, it has a tendency to be more dry than some other virgin hair types. When moisture leaves your hair due to dry atmosphere or hair products that contain alcohol or sulfates, the protective cuticle layer of the hair will deteriorate, leaving you with brittle and cracked hair. Virgin Malaysian hair is able to maintain a good degree of natural moisture. This may also be due to the climate, diet and genetics of the Malaysian people.

3

It Has Perfect Luster

Virgin Malaysian HairLets face it, luster can be a pretty tricky thing when it comes to virgin hair.  On one hand, the right amount of luster can bring your virgin hair extensions to life and give off a subtle shine that makes your hair look radiant and healthy. But take the luster a little too far and your hair can begin to look shiny, moist, clumpy and synthetic. Although it may have a high degree of shine at first, virgin Malaysian hair will quickly lose its shiny luster and retain a medium luster long after installation. This subtle, healthy,  shine can be easily maintained with the right maintenance and proper hair care.

2

It’s Soft & Smooth

soft malaysian hair Naturally, a sign of high quality and healthy hair is the soft and silky feeling of the hair. When you run your fingers through high quality virgin hair, there should be no resistance or pulling. You should literally be able to feel the protective cuticle layer that keeps the hair moist and healthy. Although Malaysian hair extensions may be thicker than Indian hair, the softness of the hair texture is comparable to the best virgin hair types in the world. Malaysian hair is super smooth to the touch and its fullness and thickness still feel very light on the head after installation.

Body, Body, Body

MALAYSIAN_bodyVirgin Malaysian hair is a winner when it comes to hair fullness and body. The thick hair is slightly curly by nature and its thickness and lightness allow the hair to have much fuller body than most other hair types. Malaysian hair moves beautifully and is great for those who love a full body hair flip every now and then. No matter how you style this versatile hair, it will always give you the body that will make you look your best every time.

A Guide To Virgin Hair Care

Caring for your virgin hair investment should be your number 1 priority. Using this Virgin Hair Care Guide should make your extensions last at least one year!

Virgin Hair Care

One key aspect of caring for your weft extensions is the installation method. To ensure that your weft extensions do not shed after installation, we strongly recommend that you instruct your stylist to observe and follow these key points:

Sew in the wefts by looping and tying the weave thread under and over the weft in a blanket stitch method.

Do not put a needle through the wefts or pierce the wefts.

Do not split the wefts.
Avoid cutting the wefts. If you have to cut the wefts, seal each cut weft with an acrylic sealer.

Post Installation Maintenance

Once natural hair is cut from a donor’s head, it stops receiving much-needed nutriments that nourish and keeps the hair soft, shiny & tangle-free. It’s therefore vitally important to maintain and treat your natural hair extensions with the appropriate maintenance products that will restore/maintain its natural softness, silk and keep it tangle-free.

Proper maintenance care using the appropriate product range will ensure that your hair extensions keep its shine and lasts for a long time. We recommend you use mild shampoos & conditioners; preferably sulfate-free and silicon free hair care products.

Warning

Using the wrong maintenance products on your virgin hair extensions will result in dry, dull, tangled, damaged and unmanageable hair extensions!

Step 1: Detangle your hair

This is a very important step prior to shampooing your hair.

Ensure that your hair is free of tangles or snares. Using a wide tooth or a detangling brush, gently comb out your hair extensions. Always comb or brush hair from the bottom up, small sections at a time. The more careful you treat your extensions the longer they will last. Support your attachment when brushing or combing your hair.

Step 2: Shampoo/Condition

Shampoo your hair at least once a week. Shampoo your hair more often if you have increased perspiration or have been in a dusty environment. Curly textures require frequent shampoos or co-washes to look its best hair. Clean your hair extensions with a moisturizing shampoo.

Wash your hair in a downward motion, working shampoo from the top down in one motion. Condition your hair with a moisturizing conditioner. Follow with the conditioner in the same manner. If the hair feels dry or heavy it is time to shampoo

Condition-Wash: Substitute conditioner for shampoo. Wash your hair in a downward motion, working conditioner from the top down in one motion. Rinse well and then style. This is great for curly styles.

Step 3: Deep Condition

To keep you hair in tip- top shape, use a deep conditioner or hot oil treatment in your hair twice a month. More or less, depending on the hair’s need. This is very important if you have chemically treated the hair or use irons.

Step 4: Styling

As mentioned in step 1, always keep your virgin hair extensions tangle free. Brush or comb gently and avoid any excess tension. Always comb or brush hair from the bottom up, small sections at a time. The more careful you treat your extensions the longer they will last. Support your attachment when brushing or combing your hair. We also strongly recommend the use of a de-tangling brush to comb your hair extensions every day so that it does not develop tangles especially in the nape area.

Heat is your hair biggest enemy. The more you use on it, the shorter the life span of your hair. Use heat in moderation. Do not use high temperatures. High temperatures can damage the hair, including permanently altering the hair texture. Use styling products that are alcohol free.

At Night: Put your hair “up” at night. Braid or pin curl your hair before going to sleep. This is important in preventing tangles. Never sleep with loose wet hair, for it may tangle while you sleep.

Virgin Brazilian Hair Care

How To Care For Your Virgin Brazilian Hair

Moisturize virgin hair

Try to use a wide tooth comb on your. Many people use a brush, but I would recommend not brushing your hair too often because brushing has a tendency to be harsh on the hair and is more likely to pull it out.  With high quality Virgin Brazilian Hair, you can expect to have it last for up to 18 months if it is well maintained and taken care of.

If you begin to notice that the ends get dry, use Argan Oil Hair Treatment. Rub it in your hands and apply it to the ends of your hair.  Argan oil is native to Morocco and is sometimes referred to as Moroccan Oil. It is instantly absorbed into the hair, penetrating the roots and improving the  elasticity of dry hair. The strengthening properties of Vitamin E in Argan oil will prevent damage to your Virgin Brazilian hair.

After washing, you can use a deep conditioning product such as Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Moisturizing Hair Conditioner. Leave the conditioner in your hair for approximately 15-20 minutes. If you have wavy hair, I recommend getting the Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Curls & Waves Hair Conditioner if you want to keep the wavy look.

After showering make sure to blot dry your hair with a towel.   While your hair is still moist, apply John Frieda Frizz-Ease to your hair. Once this is completed, make sure you air dry your hair.  You can then style it as you wish. If you apply heat to your hair when styling it, make sure that you put some heat protectant spray to prevent damage. Virgin Brazilian hair is natural and can be very sensitive to heat, causing it to dry out and lose its naturally protective cuticle layer.  Be sure to wash your hair at least once a week and follow a deep conditioning process.

When you plan to go to bed, take a few minutes to braid your hair into one or two braids and wrap you hair with a silk scarf. This will keep the ends of the hair from fraying.  If you have Virgin Brazilian hair, it is always better to keep it in its natural state for as long as possible before you apply any harsh chemicals or dyes to it. I recommend not adding any dyes to harsh chemicals to your Virgin Brazilian Hair if you can avoid it. This will keep it looking soft, silky and healthy for the longest possible time.

How To Moisturize Your Virgin Hair Extensions

How Should I Moisturize My Virgin Hair Extensions?

Moisturizing your newly bought virgin hair extensions can sometimes cause unnecessary stress and fear. Don’t worry….. There are some really simple steps that you can take to ensure that your virgin hair extensions are well maintained and taken care of so that you can look your best and keep your hair healthy and beautiful.

To keep your virgin hair soft, healthy and lasting long, one of the most important steps is to moisturize your hair properly. Here are some of the steps that I recommend when moisturizing and caring for your hair.

moisture-300x336

Wash & Condition

First, start by using a deep moisturizing shampoo and conditioner that will help to restore and renew your hair while also cleansing it. Be sure to get a deep condition and then utilize a leave in conditioner after washing. I recommend using a light, leave in conditioner such as Carol’s Daughter, Black Vanilla (Moisturizing) Leave-in Conditioner or another brand that doesn’t have a lot of buildup which will leave hair damaging residue behind. Spray the leave in conditioner on your hair and allow it to air dry. If you are in a rush, you can gently blot dry hair extensions with a soft towel.

After it dries, you can style it if you wish and wear it out during the day. If you want to be sure to keep the natural wave pattern of your virgin hair extensions, you can braid your hair in one or two braids when you go to sleep. Be sure to tie your hair in a quality satin scarf which should be readily available at your local beauty supply store.

Be sure to wash your extensions at least once a week and deep condition it so that you retain the moisture that will help keep your hair more healthy & shiny.”

Moisturize

In the morning, make sure you apply a moisturizing anti breakage product, such as Jane Carter Solution All Natural Nourish and Shine or Organix Nourishing Anti Breakage Serum. Both of these products will do an excellent job of moisturizing your natural “leave out” hair as well.

Step One:
Virgin Hair Extensions Fingers

To apply your conditioner, squirt the product in your hands and rub your hands together. Be sure to apply these moisturizers with your hands (fingers spread apart). The fingers are very sensitive and less harsh than a brush. you will be able to feel for tangles and also work the moisturizer into your hair evenly without causing damage.  Work your fingers downward, from the top toward the ends in a rhythmic motion. This will give your hair body and fullness as well as a natural healthy, but not oily, shine.

Step Two:
Virgin Hair Extensions Brush

Lightly brush through your hair with a paddle brush. Start at the ends and working slowly back up to the root in order  to avoid breakage from any possible tangles. Brush gently and evenly until you have completely worked all the way up to the top.  (Brushing your virgin hair extensions too much can ruin the natural curl pattern.)

You can then curl, straighten and style your hair anyway you like. If you use heat when styling your hair be sure to use heat protector with aloe and vitamin e because heat styling your virgin hair extensions will damage the protective cuticle layer of your hair and cause split ends and dry hair.

Voila! Your beautiful virgin hair extensions are now moisturized and protected.

Does 100% Virgin Hair Really Exist

What is Virgin Hair?

virgin hair

Virgin hair is simply hair from a living individual donor that has not been chemically processed, permed, colored or dyed. It’s the closest possible hair from the original donor. Quite simply, it is the exact hair that was on the donors head prior to harvesting. Quality virgin hair will normally be soft and feel 100% natural to the touch. In regards to texture, virgin hair is often straight. There are some high pressure heating methods that are sometimes used to add a curl or alter the texture of virgin hair.  Virgin hair can last up to 18 months when properly maintained. The primary factor to consider is whether the hair has been through any chemical process whatsoever. (even prior to the hair being removed from the donor)

All true virgin hair can also be called Virgin Remy (Remi) hair. But all Remy hair is not considered to be virgin hair!”

What is Virgin Remy Hair?

Remy hair is a term that refers to the way the hair is collected from the donor but also how it is treated afterward. When the hair is collected, it is often tied in a ponytail and then removed. When done correctly, the cuticle will remain intact.  The cuticle is the outermost, water resistant layer of the hair and serves to protect the hair. Cuticles cannot be seen with the naked eye and are often destroyed from chemical processing or excessive brushing.

When looking for fine quality Remy hair, be sure to check that all of the hair is of the same length and flows in the same direction. High quality Remy hair should be soft to the touch, tangle free and silky. This type of hair is of the highest quality and is considered Virgin Remy Hair.

What is Remy Hair?

Remy hair that is not considered virgin hair, is still 100% real human hair but it has been processed after being harvested from the donor. The hair can still be of high quality but it has been through a processing stage to provide color or enhance the texture or curls. Although chemical processing can impact the hair quality, gentle processing can still allow for up to 12 months of tangle free hair when treated properly. Again, the best Remy hair is 100% natural and free from processing but this is not the determining factor in whether hair can be considered “Remy”.

“100% human hair that has been chemically processed can still be called Remy hair if it has the right characteristics, but it can no longer be classified as virgin hair.”

Virgin HairOftentimes, you will see hair for sale that is being called “virgin hair” but is curly, wavy or clearly dyed. This is meant to deceive unknowing consumers into believing that they are purchasing is real virgin hair. What they are actually purchasing is Non-Remy Hair.

What is Non-Remy Hair?

Non-Remy Hair or synthetic hair is the most common human hair on the market. Although Non-remy hair may look appealing, the hair is considered to be “fallen hair” because it is normally gathered from multiple sources. The hair is then processed in an acid bath which strips away the protective cuticle layer. In order to bring back some of the smooth, shiny feeling and appearance, the hair is dipped into a silicone coating. This restoration of the hair gives it a more healthy, but shiny appearance. Non-Remy hair can last from 3-6 months and is often passed off as Remy hair or even Virgin Remy hair. After several washings, the silicone coating wears off and the hair begins to tangle and get dry.
